Accessibility Statement

Tab-able is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.

Our Standard

This website endeavours to conform to Level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2.

These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people.

Areas We’re Working On

Whilst Tab-able strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. These include:

Checkboxes within the Cookie Banner

Our cookie banner is operated by a third party organisation named Complianz.

When choosing a cookie preference within the banner, checkbox controls are provided with visual labels, such as “Statistics.” However, these checkboxes are missing an accessible name.

As a result, some people with disabilities will not find it easy choosing their preference:

  • People using screen readers without vision may not be able to determine what’s being asked of them.
  • People using Voice Control with limited manipulation cannot easily reach the checkbox controls.

Due to the nature of cookie compliance banners and third party vendors, we’re still finding a workaround for this issue.

Our support ticket with the vendor can be found on the public WordPress.org support forums. Feel free to follow along.

Banner Videos

Some landing pages include a decorative video banner. The key information is presented in plain text.

To minimise distraction, we provide pause and playback controls.

For blind screen reader users, these videos may appear out of place, as they are not currently labelled.

Rest assured, no essential information is missing.

We are working towards a solution that will inform screen reader users of the video’s presence and decorative purpose.

Conclusion

We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility.

In the meantime should you experience any difficulty in accessing the Tab-able website, please donโ€™t hesitate to contact us.
